IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW REGARDING THE JANUARY ENTITLEMENT GRADUATES!

Effective 2-1-2012, ISBE will have new rules in effect regarding the qualification for teacher certification.  

These new rules will affect the entitlement applicants

who apply for their certification after January 31, 2012.

All candidates who have completed their entitlement program prior to February 1st MUST apply for the certificate no later than January 31, 2012.

ISBE certification will expire entitlement notifications where a certificate and or subsequent endorsement that has not been issued by February 1st, 2012.

If the applicant has not applied by the deadline January 31, 2012, the notification of completion of their program will be deleted from the ISBE records.

If the notification has been deleted, the applicant will then be required to file ISBE form 73-05 State Approved Program form and will have to meet all new certification standards.

For those seeking their first teaching certificate, this could mean the loss of all additional endorsements from the original notification.

Only those endorsements that meet the new standard will be eligible for addition-each one by separate application, evaluation, and fee.
