Students must read and take notes on Phytoplankton, Carbon, and The Earth. b. Students must answer questions in Activities. 2. Discuss questions and answers 3. After discussion, students must construct concept maps using a list of vocabulary words from the reading. 4. Students will be divided into groups and asked to create an experiment showing how one factor in oceans affects phytoplankton color. [Plan must be approved by the teacher] 5. Since students will have to collect and assimilate data from their experiments, a brief lesson on spreadsheets will be introduced in the computer lab using Microsoft Excel. 6. Students will then implement their plans. 7. Students will meet in the computer lab for an introduction to Microsoft Powerpoint. 8. Studnets will prepare both a written report and an oral presentation outlining their procedures and findings.
